Meetings, meetings and more meetings

This past month we have been meeting with all kinds of people to get this dream of ours up and running.  We met with real estate agents, tax accountants, insurance, bankers, breweries, potential customers and such forth.

We have always said in the beginning of this journey to compare it to roller coaster ride at a theme park.  A lot of waiting in line, then you take your seat, wait some more, then the ride starts to go up, and then you finally get to the peak and then you go down with your hands up going super fast with a lot of loops and turns.

The tasting party @ Lawn Olympics went very well.  Great responses on the beer.  We ran out of the cream ale and the amber in record time. We also surprised some people by having t-shirts and glassware for sale.  The response was so great that we had to take more orders for t-shirts.

We have a Facebook and Twitter account set up.  Wonderful to see 100 likes on Facebook in less than two weeks of uploading the page.  So like us on Facebook/Twitter for quick little fun updates.  This blog will be more of a broad prospective on how things are going.  Until now Cheers!

Official Logo

After months of rough drafts and saying yes to this and no to that we finally have a logo that we are proud of.  Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.  Now we can go forward to make t-shirts, glassware and other fun little nuggets.

Introduction

We are Broken Seal Brewing Co. where there is no BS in our beer!
Micah, Ben, Russ

Which started from a cooktop on the stove to  going outside using old kegs, welding some metal, lp tanks, barley, hops, yeast, water and a lot of physical labor what would be the next step? Why not open up our own brewery?  Come ride with us on this amazing journey from a little beer kit for 4  to a business selling beer to a large amount of people.

Logo in planning

We met with which we think is going to be our logo team (we have not terminated them yet).  The first rough draft was amazing!  We suggested just minor adjustments or see how it would look in a different way.  This is going to be so good that people want to get a tattoo of it someplace on their body.  Stay tuned.

A little update

Right now we are in process of going through our business plan and making great beer.  We did a private party and featured two beers a blonde and an amber ale.  There was also a special release of a cider ale.  For a two hour event we went through 18 gallons of beer.  Just enough amber for Ben to take home and enjoy.  We had a lot of great feedback and quite of few people asked where can we buy your beer.  In due time my friends in due time.

We also did an event at Micah's house featuring 9 different beers.  We did the amber and blonde again.  Then also had a Hop Rocket Pale Ale, Rye IPA, Cali Common, Helles, Maple Brown (with real maple syrup from a farm in Stillwater), Cider Ale and Cream Ale.  We went through almost 45 gallons of beer could have been more if we knew we had another keg was full and not switched out.  Oh well more for us.  It was great hearing the positive and not so positive feedback.

Micah sent some beers to Lucid's homebrewing competition and won the Dopplebock competition and placed with the Cali Common and placed on the Belgium Dubel.  As far as the MN State Fair even though no medals where won there was quite a few beers which received really high marks.  Will keep you posted on the progress of the development of the brewery.
